ABOUT JULIA

Julia Chiang, born to immigrant parents in Raleigh, NC, in 1969, is a mother of three residing inĀ Franklin Lakes, NJ, just outside of New York City.

A self-taught abstract expressionist working primarily in acrylic, Julia only began painting recently, having been unable to pursue her artistic interests in her youth. Her work is inspired by her love for literature, history, female empowerment, and nature. She often draws from the female characters she encounters in books and life, as well as the natural world. Through her choice of colors and brushstrokes, Julia strives to reveal the nuanced, hidden energy and emotions of the people and the world around her.
